(1.) Read: A despatch from the Secretary of State approving of the increase of the building grant to St. Joseph's College from $5,000 to $6,000.

The Committee, in view of the regulations as to building grants in the Grant-in-Aid Scheme, vote the sum, after a lengthy discussion.

The Honourable F. B. Johnson, however, gives notice that he intends to call the attention of the Council to the advisability of votes for building Grants-in-Aid being submitted to the Finance Committee and the Legislative Council before they are sent for approval to the Secretary of State.

Miscellaneous Services.

(2.) Read: An application from the Government Printers applying for payment of certain Ordinances to complete the file, $365.58, being the cost of reprinting certain Ordinances.

The Committee recommend that the sum be voted, as the expenditure was necessary in order to carry out the work of codifying the Ordinances.
